Overview
In Sparkrock Edsembli HRP (both 5.0 and 5.2), entitlement generation depends on the employee group type and payment method. Here we explain why position changes do not trigger entitlements for Timesheet Groups and their corresponding Payment Methods, and why salary increases do.
Timesheet Groups
- Timesheet Groups are employee groups configured to manage payroll based on recorded time entries rather than fixed salaries.
- Commonly associated with the below examples:
- Payment Method 3: Hourly rate timesheets (casual employees, overtime).
- Payment Method 4: Daily rate timesheets (occasional teachers).
- Payroll for these groups is driven by approved timesheet transactions, not by position details alone.
Entitlement Generation
- Position Changes:
For Timesheet Groups, changing a position does not create an entitlement because pay is calculated from timesheet entries, not from position data. - Salary Increases:
When a salary increase occurs, the system updates the compensation record linked to the employee’s position. This triggers an entitlement because the new rate affects future timesheet calculations, and the system must reflect the updated pay rate for upcoming timesheet entries.
