ISSUE: No Group records Exist Covering Salary Record error happens when adding Compensation record for new group/job code.
When the error 'No Group records Exist Covering Salary Record' happens when trying to add a position on Salary and Allowances, there is a checklist to be checked.
Board Control > General Tables > Employee Group Codes
The Status field for the employee group of the position to be added needs to be set as Active:
Board Control > General Tables > Employee Group Maintenance
The Group Start Date must be set as today's date or prior, which will put the Status to Current:
Payroll > Group Data > Basic Group Data
Make sure that all the information for the employee group on this screen is properly filled:
OPC Management > Position Control
The Effective Date for the positions in that Employee Group must be set as today's date or prior, and Status to Active:
After going through this check list, try the steps below:
Staffing > Position and Assignment
Try adding a new record under Positions. You will be able to set the Start Date of this position to a future date and the Status will be Future:
Compensation > Salary and Allowances
Try adding a new record under Employee Compensation. You will be able to set the Start Date and As of Date of this compensation to a future date and the Status will be Future:
