Care and Treatment Education Programs (CTEP)

As of 2025–26, the Ministry of Education (Ontario) has established a new designation for students with primary care and/or treatment needs: Care and Treatment Education Programs (CTEPs). These students were previously captured under the ECCP registers but will now be captured according to the following rules. ECCP registers remain in place and unaffected.

  • Tracked with daily "N" attendance codes
  • Assigned 0.0 FTE
  • Treated as "shared pupils" with the associated CTEP BSID
  • Have attendance tracked exclusively under the CTEP BSID

Funding resumes only once a student is no longer in a CTEP. Additionally, enrolment register data must reflect this status clearly, even for students continuing in online courses.

How to enter students into the New Program

A new Board Residence Status Type will be added to the SIS called “CTEP Student.”

When this status is selected:

  • The system will require you to select the associated CTEP BSID number from a list of schools.
  • The student’s main school (where they were originally registered) will remain the OSR holder.
  • The student will be shared with the CTEP school, where all attendance will be taken.
  • At the home school, the “N” attendance code will automatically populate for all periods/classes until the student returns. At that point, regular attendance will resume.
  • The students FTE will be at 0.00 at the home school while in the CTEP program
